Tanyapong Thamavaranukupt has been Co-President of Ascend
Money since October 2016. He is responsible for expanding and driving
the growth of TrueMoney’s financial products in Thailand and other 5
countries in Southeast Asia including Cambodia, Myanmar, Philippines,
Vietnam and Indonesia.
Tanyapong has extensive experience in financial industry for over 15
years. He had been appointed various senior executive positions in
leading financial institutions. Tanyapong started his career in financial
sector in 1999 at GE Capital (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and was promoted to
various positions including Executive Director, responsible for credit card
and mortgage products in Asia region including Thailand.

In 2007, he joined the Bank of Ayudhya Pcl. in the position of First Executive Vice President and oversaw Customer
Analytics & Pricing before moving to become a Managing Director of CFG Services Co., Ltd. (Later renamed to Ngern
Tid Lor Co., Ltd.), which is a subsidiary of the Bank of Ayudhya and best-known for nano-finance product under the
brand ‘Srisawad Ngern Tid. Lor’. Tanyapong later joined Krung Thai Bank Pcl. as Senior Executive Vice President
and Head of Retail Business & Network Group in 2013. During his tenure, he took care of all retail customer products
such as saving, investment, life and personal accident insurances, mortgage and personal loans. He also led the team
to enhance investment products to comply with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand.
Tanyapong is a successful business leader with a consistent track record of performance in building and turning
around organizations. He has proven to be highly motivated, with the ability to grow a business at an exceptional pace,
utilizing excellent problem-solving skills, as well as a cross functional team approach to drive organization
improvements. His passion lies in innovating financial services that help people with no traditional credit scores to
access more transparent and safer sources of funding as well as various digital financial offerings.
Tanyapong received his Bachelor of Engineering from Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand before completing
his MBA at the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Rochester in the United
States.
